The Space

The Hideaway at Mystic Falls is a Vampire Diaries-themed vacation rental in Covington, Georgia, the town used as the filming location for Mystic Falls throughout the show's eight-season run. The property features screen-used props and original art from The Vampire Diaries, including paintings from the Salvatore mansion, artwork from the Lockwood mansion, and a Mikaelson coffin reupholstered in red velvet and mounted in the living room.

The main living area features velvet seating, a vintage two-seater bar, and a dedicated mini fridge stocked with fruit punch blood bags. Candlelight runs throughout the house. Guests often arrive after dark and find the red porch light already burning, a detail that sets the tone before you walk through the door.

The kitchen features the iconic painting that hung to the left of the Salvatore mansion fireplace in the show. For fans who notice it, it stops them mid-step. That's intentional.

Front deck for morning coffee or an evening cocktail. A fenced backyard with a fire pit. Three minutes down Floyd Street, past Elena Gilbert and Caroline Forbes’ houses, to the historic Covington square that houses the TVD clock tower, the Mystic Grill. Also minutes away from The Covington Welcome Center which houses a museum’s worth of TVD and TVDU props.

The Bedrooms

The Red Room

Intense and luxurious. An intricately hand-carved bed, personal vanity, and vintage photographs including a portrait of 1864-era Stefan Salvatore.

The Blue Room

Cool and aloof. Candlelight at the bedside, classic literature, and a portrait of Damon Salvatore circa 1864. An iconic painting from the Lockwood mansion (featured in the Miss Mystic Falls S1 Ep19) hangs at the foot of the bed.

The Pink Room

Opulent and decadent. An ornate king-sized bed, personal vanity, red velvet couch, and 1864-era photographs of Katherine Pierce, Stefan Salvatore, and Damon Salvatore.

What Makes it Entirely Different

You’re part of the story.

There are several Airbnbs in Covington for Vampire Diaries fans. Most are comfortable homes near the square with TVD-inspired décor. The Hideaway invites you to step into an 1864-era, Katherine Pierce-inspired, gothic romantic fantasy where you are the main character.

The props are real.

The coffin, the paintings, the artwork — they're not replicas. Guests who watched the show recognize them mid-sentence. That recognition is not something you can manufacture with décor.

The experience has layers.

Throughout the house there are unexpected details, subtle clues, and story-driven moments built into the stay. They reward attention. Not every guest finds them. The ones who do remember this stay differently than they remember everywhere else they've ever been.

It's designed for celebration.

Birthdays, anniversaries, girls' trips, bachelorettes, proposals — guests arrive for specific reasons. Optional celebration packages include a custom gothic rose arch, signature quote banners, 1864-era treats, and curated keepsakes. The host notices when something matters and acts accordingly.

Bucket list without breaking the bank.

A 3-bedroom, 2 bath house in walking distance of the square for a little more than the cost of one room at an average hotel. Bonus points: you’re surrounded by antiques, velvet, candlelight, and mystique. Tip: Keep an eye out for midweek specials.

Weekends book up to a year out.

Guests don't land on the Hideaway by browsing available dates. They hold the date months out because it has to be this property. If a specific weekend matters to you, check availability early.
