Katherine welcomes you via text and with a wax-sealed letter waiting at the house (she’s old school like that). There’s a phone in the living room just dying to be picked up; you’ll never guess who’s on the other end. Her texts, and a book with clues of its own, will lead you toward a hidden room most guests never find, and help you unlock a cipher few guests ever crack. Get stuck, and Katherine will usually check in to help.
You’re not observing Mystic Falls. You’re a character in it.

The Space
The Hideaway at Mystic Falls is a Vampire Diaries-themed vacation rental in Covington, Georgia, the town used as the filming location for Mystic Falls throughout the show’s eight-season run. The property features screen-used props and original art from The Vampire Diaries, including paintings from the Salvatore mansion, artwork from the Lockwood mansion, and a Mikaelson coffin reupholstered in red velvet and mounted in the living room.

An intricately hand-carved bed, personal vanity, and vintage photographs including a portrait of 1864-era Stefan Salvatore.

Candlelight at the bedside, classic literature, and a portrait of Damon Salvatore circa 1864. An iconic painting from the Lockwood mansion (featured in the Miss Mystic Falls S1 Ep19) hangs at the foot of the bed.

An ornate king-sized bed, personal vanity, red velvet couch, and 1864-era photographs of Katherine Pierce, Stefan Salvatore, and Damon Salvatore.

The living room
The main living area features velvet seating, a vintage two-seater bar, and a dedicated mini fridge stocked with fruit punch blood bags. Candlelight runs throughout the house.
Guests often arrive after dark and find the red porch light already burning, a detail that sets the tone before you walk through the door.
The kitchen
The kitchen features the iconic painting that hung to the left of the Salvatore mansion fireplace in the show. For fans who notice it, it stops them mid-step. That’s intentional.

Three Minutes From the Square
Three minutes down Floyd Street, past Elena Gilbert and Caroline Forbes’ houses (private homes, sidewalk only), to the historic Covington square, home of the TVD clock tower and the Mystic Grill. The Covington Welcome Center, which houses a museum’s worth of TVD and TVDU props, is minutes away too.

Weekends Book Up to a Year Out
Guests don’t land on the Hideaway by browsing available dates. They hold the date months out because it has to be this property. If a specific weekend matters to you, check availability early.
